Terms of service

Last updated September 9, 2026

This is the starting template that ships with this software, not legal advice. Whoever runs this service should replace it with terms that describe their own business, and have a lawyer read it if anything here matters to them.

About this service

Driply is a file storage and sharing service. These terms are the agreement between you and whoever operates it — "the operator" below — and they apply from the moment you create an account or open a link somebody has shared with you.

Your account

You need an account to store files. Give an email address you can actually receive mail at: it is how you confirm the account and how you get back in when you forget your password. Keep your password to yourself, because anything done with your account is treated as done by you.

The operator may suspend an account being used to break these terms.

What you may store

Store what you like, with three exceptions: nothing illegal where the operator runs this service, nothing that infringes somebody else's rights, and nothing built to attack other people's computers. The operator may remove content that does, and may close the account behind it.

Your files remain yours

Nothing here transfers ownership of anything you upload. You give the operator only the permission needed to run the service: to store your files, move them in and out of storage, and serve them to you and to anybody you deliberately share them with.

Sharing

A share link is a web address, and anybody holding it can open what it points at. Treat one like a key and send it only to the people you meant to send it to. You can put a password on a link, give it an expiry date, cap how many times it may be downloaded, and revoke it whenever you want — but what you share, and who you share it with, is yours to decide and yours to answer for.

Storage limits

Every plan has a storage allowance and a largest-file limit. When an account reaches its allowance, uploads pause. Nothing is deleted. Downloading, sharing and deleting all keep working, so you can free up space or move to a larger plan and carry on where you left off.

Plans

Plans and allowances are set by the operator. This installation does not take payments online, so ask the operator how to change plan.

Deleting files, and leaving

Deleting a file moves it to the trash, where you can put it back. After 30 days in the trash it is deleted permanently and cannot be recovered. Closing your account removes the account and the files in it.

Availability

This service is provided as it is. The operator does not promise it will be available without interruption, and cannot be responsible for data you have no other copy of. Keep your own backup of anything you cannot afford to lose — that is worth doing with every file service, including the large ones.

Changes to these terms

The operator may revise these terms. The date at the top of this page is when they last did.

Contact

Questions about any of this go to the operator.
